If your just looking for a code reader, look at actron's offerings. They should have a couple of simple code readers that are diesel compatible. If you want more diagnostic functions, you need a more sophisticated setup. I wouldn't spend the money on anything that could do data logging, data logging lets you view live sensor readings. The live readings give a wealth of information and clues to what ails you. B&B's AutoTap is pretty good, I like Sniper's Recon Suite, and I've heard decent things about auto enginuity. These are all enduser products, snap on and the other tool companies have professional versions which cost a lot more.
