1993 F-150 help
I am getting ready to trade my 1998 F-150 for a 1993 F-150 styleside 4x4 with 10" of lift. He told me the truck just started having the "Ford Death Wobble" if you get over 45 mph. He claims it is just a wheel bearing going out. Is he right or might it be something else? I havent had the chance to look at the truck in person but I know wheel bearings and ball joints can cause the death wobble. Is there anything else that could cause it?

bump, hey I have the same problem.......sorry for the hijack right here, but here goes......I have a 1987 F150 and before I lifted it, everything was fine in this respect, no vibrations, random wobbles, etc......but there was a little play in the steering
I put a 5.5" lift on it last weekend, and now, put 35" tires on it, and now I too have this terrible vibration that starts at about 55 and gets worse as the speed goes up.. I have checked the rear driveline/driveshaft to see if it needs to be lengthened, and it does seem like it has a little bit of play in the slip joint.....
can I get a longer slip joint, or do I need to go get this shaft extended at a machine shop?
secondly, the lift kit I bought did not come with a stabilizer, so would this be a good idea to buy now that im running the 35s on the weak TTB front?
finally, what do you mean about not having proper angles in the steering? Too steep of a drag link angle? no drop pitman arm? what do you mean?
I got the play fixed that was in the steering, which was caused by a bad drag link ball joint, dang thing was about to fall off, and it rides great now, but this vibration is killing me, since my truck is my main means of transportation.

nighthawk i would say check your pinion angle it should be no more than 4* if i recall you might have to put in a wedge or get some new blocks with the correct amount of angle built in....and as far as i know almost any angle in your steering can contribute to a death wobble
olfaithful what kind of trans do you have? is it an auto? i don't mess with manuals but i know an c6 and an aod have speedo cables with a gear installed on the end of the cable that goes to the trans you change the gear to compensate for gearing and tire changes there are calculators online to figure out what gear you need
