Thats a SWEET Audi. I was looking at an A4 and my buddy has an A4 but said its horrible for maintance. He said the price of parts and thigs are threw the roof. Is that true or was he not wanting me to buy one? Is the 1.8T the same in the VW?
Sorry off topic.
I didn't know about the different T stats. Good info.

But you really need to drive one before you say you do not want one.
IMO there is no better car on the road than one that is german engineered.
Especially the all wheel drive.
You can be WOT accelorating and hit a diagonal ridge and the car will simply go over it straight ahead with zero bump steer.
Everything else just feels a little "spongy" to me.
Don't shoot me, but if VW/Audi made a truck as big as my Powerstroke, I would own it.

You make me wish I still had my A4. I had a 2002 1.8t I loved that car. I sold it to a co worker and he has had it for 2yrs now and I hate him.

With a chip and big turbos, cat delete, easily 500+.
And you don't have to do anything to the manual transmission for them to be able to handle that power. You would have to put in a stronger clutch.
The engineers knew it would need to be strong right out of the factory, so they made the gear carrier housing for the trannies out of cast iron.
My old Audi 5000 Turbo was good for 500 hp without mods. I never did them because for me the car was fast enough. It would do 90 in third gear.
120 mph and it wasn't even breathing hard.
