Got mine back out of pawn for $590.82 I was right, it was the pinion bearings. I can't fully describe what happened to the race, on one section of it, there was just holes that looked like they popped out of the middle of the race. The rest of the race looked perfect, and didn't have any groves or scratches. One of the strangest things I have seen metal do. To describe it best I can, it was like someone had started drilling a bunch of holes and the drill bit kept jumping around.

At least you got something out of the money you paid, I just wrote a check for similar funds to the courthouse. Nothing broke, nothing repaired.......just allowed to drive our vehicles on KS roadways for another year :|

That's true! So far so good!

We have to do that as well this month, I don't know what it cost for our 5 vehicles and a trailer , because the wife takes care of all of that, but I imagine it will be close to that or more.

I saw in the pictures that you could almost fit two in there if they were small enough.

Maddie and I drove her Sable up on stands and crawled underneath to try to determine where the oil leaks are coming from.
The transmission one seems like its running down from the top of the dipstick, so I am going to price a new dipstick for it.
I am not sure how best to find leak origination, but we are wiping down the pans, and cleaning things the best we can to see what gets oily the fastest.
if it is remotely possible, I would like to remove all of the leaks, so our driveway and street don't have a bunch of oil spots. none of our other vehicles leak regularly, and I would like this one to be the same. (may be a pipe dream)

Curtis, the dip stick may just have an "O" ring on it to keep it from leaking. You might try to pull it out and replace that.

It has what looks like an Oring on it, that I tried pulling off, but noticed it was part of a much larger piece of rubber held on by metal tabs that were formed into place.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!! Love it!!! Great IDEA...

"Dad... Why is the car on fire?"
"Honey.. we didn't want any more oil spots on the driveway."
"But.... Why does the car have to burn?"
It just does... It just does...
