Is it possible to get 210,000 miles out of a 2008 expedition in 7 years? Does this engine & tranny hold up w/o any towing?

 

I have a '98 Expedition with 5.4L with just under 200,000 and it's still going strong. Just keep up with your preventative maintenance and you should be fine.

 

What about this issue I hear about spark plugs exploding?

 

I've never heard about that, I have been told that you should only use the coil packs from ford as many of the others don't work well.

From what that thread says, you should be able to pull a plug on the '08 and tell by which style plug it has if you're going to have trouble or not.

 

I think so, as long as you don't beat the snot out of it.

Go to Ebay and see if you can search F150s by the highest mileage first... the 5.4 would be the same engine... the 6-speed would be the only difference... my guess is you'll find more than a few with incredible miles on them. Everything underneath the leather is basically a commercial vehicle.
