Bobcats,

Thank you for your quick reply. It sounds as if you are as **** with your truck as I am with mine. My present truck, 1995 XLT, has the same style cap as the 100xl and that is what I wish to buy when I purchase my new truck. I'm actually surprised you spoke with some one from Leer, since they seem to want to keep correspondence focused mainly between retailer and consumer.

Again, beautiful truck and good luck with it. Thanks again for your posts; without realizing it, you have certainly alleviated my concerns regarding the Leer cap.

John

Beautiful truck! Good luck with it. Question, Are the wheels painted / cleared aluminum or are they polished? hard to tell from angle of picture. Thanks

The leer cap is a great cap. I put 300 000 miles on one and it developed two cracks up near the hinge, leer replaced the cap with a new one no questions asked free of charge.

I just bought a Leer cap for '09 F150 and it's trouble already - rattling and squeaking because it's rubbing against the cab, and probably messing up the cab. Will bring it back tomorrow. Now I'm googling up people who have had problems with Leer caps - too late.

Gorgeous ride. Every time I look at pics, its makes me want mine even more. Stone green XLT due in about 4 weeks. Again nice truck and the cap looks good.

Hey Werewolf

My Platinum is at the begining of this thread and has had the cap on it since the end of January. No problems, the fit is great. My bed is obviously the 5.5, don't know why yours is having problems. If you are not happy with the cap, I would definately bring it back. They have a lifetime warranty, and you are clearly unsatisfied. The customer is always right.

Good Luck
Bobcat

You have got to love the Ford Engineer logic!

Thanks for the compliment.

Thanks for answering that! I was worried about how ice, snow, sand, etc. would impact (impair!) those running boards.

Great looking. I have a black on black 2004 Lariat. Love the color combo.

That truck's alter ego (meaning the tri-sand white I believe it's called with matching cap) pulled up next to me at a stoplight today...lol. Also a very good looking ride, but I'm partial to black. This is a really, really nice ride. As someone else said, I'm also not really a cap guy, but it looks good in this particular case.
