I installed a set of the new Rain-X Latitude wiper blades and they are amazing! They are universal you just have to know what length you need. The SD's use a 20" wiper blade. They come with all kinds of adapters to make them work on almost any vehicle. BUT the best part is, is with our super duty's you don't need any of the adapters. just take them out of the package take the plastic off the rubber part and put them on. I bent the skinny part of the metal windshield wiper arm toward the windshield just a hair and it gave them a perfect contact surface. Turn you truck on sit in the passenger seat close your eyes and have a friend turn on the windshield wipers. Try and guess when they are going. You more then likely can't because they are so quite. Even with the windshield being dry.

I have a good amount of "road grime" on my windshield and that didn't effect the performance of these blades.

I highly recommend this product to everyone for any vehicle. I have had them on my truck for two weeks now and have used them in mist, rain, downpours, and hail and have never felt safer because I can see clearly.

If you are anywhere needing new blades or can't stand the lack of efficiency your current blades provide, save your self the headache and possibly wrecking your truck and go get these blades. $17.00 per blade is a cheap price to pay for good vision in the elements.

I've had problems in just the past two years, with both of my vehicles eating up the blades to the point where the rubber squeegee splits off the blade. Starting to wonder if it's the el-cheepo windshield washing fluid.

I get about 6 months out of a set, and then they start to come apart. Both Anco and some other brand, forgot what it was. I have Trico on the Cougar now, and they seem to be lasting, AND use metal for the structure of the blade and not plastic.

What are the Rain-X ones made out of, and do the pivots look like they would come apart with too much force?

 

I've had 24" Latitudes on my truck for close to a year. They are tad streaky now but the rubber is in good shape yet. I only paid $15 each for them and am happy with them. Probably going to get a new set this summer.

The Rain-X Latitudes are like the Bosch Icons in design. Its a 1-piece plastic frame thats contoured and fits the glass better than metal framed wipers.

I forgot which kind I bought @ Wallyworld last time until I got another set and discovered the Rain-X original cartons hidden in the garage...

I was not really pleased with the longevity being the 3rd set in less than 3 years....
And this is in Texus were it has rained twice in 14 months !!! (Maybe they dry rotted !?!!) lol

I've got my second set on my truck (put a set on the wife car also) as the first was acting up at about 16 months. They were on the truck for midwest thunder storms and here at 6000' plus in heavy snow and less filtered sunlight. I got no complaint and will continue to buy them as they are that good. I run 22"s on my truck a little more clear vision, I know some guys run 24"s but I didn;t think I needed them that big.

 

I just put Rain-X wiper blades on this winter. I have a 24" on the drivers side and a 22" on the passenger side. They have worked well so far. I change my blades every year. They get a lot of abuse with fir needles and sap. Using the 24" on the drivers side makes a huge difference. I can actually see the road now.

 

I change my blades every 6 months because I'm a little **** about them. The winters raise heck with them, so they are usually pretty abused when they are due for a change. I've never found a blade that I love, but I'm going to try the Bosch Icon to see if they will be my 'first'.

 

Trico Neoforms are another very good blade to try.

 

I was not impressed with the rain-x blades but basically I haven't found any that gets the void straight out from my rear view mirror. I need some now, the rain-x are capute, maybe I'll just try the standard amco wipers and see what happens.

 

Mine were horrible out of the box. Driver side would leave a 3-4" smear in the line of sight. Pass. side had intermittant smears all over. Marginal in rain. Horrible in snow/ice.

Emailed Rain-X twice...no reply.

Replaced with cheapo Anco and they work great. I can replace the Ancos four times for about the same price of the Latitudes.

 

you have to remember that it is recommended to replace them every year, no matter if they are still working.
I usually change them every Fall/Winter, before the first snow falls
I have always liked the inexpensive WINTER WIPER BLADES from ANCO $12-14 each for 24 inch
I will say that the RAIN X wipers are OK, I have them on my 08 Ranger work truck.

Anyone compared them the PIAA blades? I've thought about trying them, but I do so like the piaa's performance, but my last refill doesn't have the alcohol/silicone packet in it and I'm considering just trying another blade.
