Are you going to get a PCM flash from Jody or a tuner?

I like 80 E on my tuner it is the one that I use most. Cris (lifted grocery getter) has that on her PCM and she is very happy with it.

The other tunes I have are no start stock 60 T 80E 120R 140A

I would think about this again if I was you. If you are just now getting it I would get all you can so you dont have to send it back for more.

I can't really justify the $200+ for a switcher +$X per additional tune. The truck isn't really my DD, so I might just stick with a 80hp tow (anybody know the the gas mileage and boost pressure is on this one)

I do under stand. I was late reading the last few post. The 80hp tow is a good all around tune. If I had just 1 thats what I would do.

Jim is correct I like my 80E also it runs strong and gets good MPG. But I do have more tunes and if I only had 1 tune. I would go 80T but you may want to ask Jody to make sure what you need for your truck and needs.

Thats what I would do be VERY easy on the truck in the winters until she is warmed up and I mean warm before you really start getting onto her hard.

Since it looks like you maybe towing your car and supplies from time to time I'd get a 80tow tune.

No, what happens on a Tune, whether it's 80E or 80T or whichever is the Cylinder pressures are raised and it's hard on the injectors. This is hard on the engine during initial startup, especially in the cold. You really should set it to Stock and let her warm up is all...Frankly, You should really get the switch withthe DP, I know you are trying to save a few bucks and all but it's really the correct way to approach the Tuner install. You will be so happy with the towing difference in power you'll quickly shrug off the extra $$

This last statement tells me that you don't plan on getting gauges and you are planning on using "book" numbers for making sure your egt's don't get too high???
BAD IDEA! I will not harp until you confirm this is what you are doing.

My gas mileage didn't get much better with any of the tunes. I have seen the best increase in 40T and 80E. BUT, even though there isn't better mileage the truck has A TON more power with no sacrifice in milage.
I can rarely get 25+ lbs of boost. I can get surge though. I don't like the WW concept and can't justify a ported housing so I control it with my right foot.

EDIT - I tow the bass boat and empty goosneck in 80E all the time and no problems. I asked Jody and he said it is no harder on the tranny in 80E vs 80T. The only thing is you have quicker shift points in 80E to keep the RPMs below 2000.
