distributor question

distributor question
i have a 79f250 anyway the question i have is it is only gettin spark when i crank it ove its got a new control module and and nothin wrong with the harness could it be the magnetic pickup in the distributor is bad?

yea
yea im sure cause it all worked and then i had the key on working on the tail lights and i was told it fried the ignition box or the pickup the red wire on the coil is hot with the key on and the green one used to be but after i had the key on the whole time i think its the pickup

yea
yea ill try that it could have fried that earlier i took the 2 prong plug off the ignition module and had power to both sides of the coil but as soon as i plugged it back in i lost power to the side with the green wire but still had power to the other one
