Lawmakers in Iowa trying to make regular diesel illegal
Curious what you guys think about the article below. It gets cold here in Iowa...I'm not sure they've thought about the specifics of how they are going to keep rigs, busses and vehicles from freezing up in the wintertime. lol
Don't get me wrong, I like biodiesel...I just don't like the idea of being forced to use it. Why not make all cars convert to ethanol, too?
Proposal asks lawmakers to require alternative fuel

DES MOINES (KWWL)-- A proposal before state lawmakers would make all regular diesel illegal in the state of Iowa after July 1.
In a report by the Des Moines Register, the new bill would have farmers, over-the-road truckers, school districts with diesel buses and owners of any personal vehicle with a diesel engine required to use biodiesel, an alternative fuel, which is largely soybean-based.
Biodiesel fuel is about two and a half cents per gallon more than regular diesel.
Minnesota has a similar mandate for biodiesel.

I wouldn't mind having access to biodiesel at all of the stations..that would be pretty neat actually. What I don't like is being forced to use it.
Yeah no kidding. My truck froze up this winter on regular ULSD with additives in it. Think of what would've happened if I had bio in my tank. At temperatures up to -35 in the wintertime...I can't see how they think this will work. Even 5 or 10% bio at those temperatures...
