Back up camera or sensors

Ok for what ever reason my wifes 07 Limited EL didn't come with back up sensors or a camera. There's a lot of after market products out there. Some looks to be a pile of crap and some looks top notch. I was thinking a camera set up would be nice but then there is the wiring issue. Because of the drop down airbags lining the roof I would be hesitant run wires up there. I've seen a couple of wireless models? Has anyone tried anything yet?

Camera was an option on the 07 limit but I thought the back up sensors were standard. They had 2 different styles. One has the black pieces on the rear bumper and the other used a device that sent the sound waves through the rear plastic bumper.

I have nothing that I know of. I have the original sticker and it says nothing about back up sensors. My F250 has the black quarter size sensors but I've never heard of the one sending sound waves through the bumper at least not from the factory.

Ya I know for sure my 2008 Expy Limited has the internal method. There are no black sensors on the bumper at all. I'm just not sure if that started in 07 or 08. It ws also standard on the 08.

07's did not come with visible sensors. They used the sonar type system, which is less accurate that the previous system.

I just ordered the Sanyo CCA-BC200 backup camera system.

It is really slick in that is uses a computer system to correct the fisheye image as well as projects lines for the width of the vehicle and foot markers at 2, 4, and 8ft behind the truck. It also has an arial view that looks like an overhead view showing the back of the truck.

With regards to the wires, there are aftermarket wireless video senders that you can use to send the video from the back of the truck to the front where the monitor is.

My 07 limited came standard with backup sensors that beep when you get close to something. I believe they can be disabled via the menu so if you don't hear any beeping when backing up (and you're close to an object), check the menu to see if you have it enabled.

In 07, the convenience package was an option on all models. It includes the reverse sensing system, adjustable foot pedals and venting rear panel windows.

Good on you! I forgot that the convenience package was an option because all of the limiteds in houston had that included (at least all from the 7 dealers I spoke with did).

Yeah, most Limiteds had that option installed. I have the brochure from 07 that shows the Conv. package as on option on all models.

Yep, optional. My 07 EL Limited does not have that package and does not have the rear back-up sensors.
