Allegedly the us army issued plans to convert their entire fleet to burn wood gas in the event of a fuel shortage.

I just wonder how much horsepower wood could produce.

"Allegedly" is a key word, and I have to call BS on that plan.

Technically, it is possible to make engines running on it, but there would be many issues with it. In most cases it would be better to make synthetic gasoline out of wood, and use that instead.
