I had this same thing happen to my 97 Explorer. I can hear the motor go up and down. I suspect the glass came off the bracket. Ha anyone tried to expoy the galss back into the bracket? Any suggestions how to fix?

I used automotive silicone caulk to adhere the glass back into the track. I taped the window up for 24 hours before putting it down. It's been fine ever since.

The key is to clean the glass and track really good before siliconing them together.
