Max fuel mileage range

Max fuel mileage range
1999 F350 with 205,000 miles. Just wondering what kind of range you guys are getting? I have a 40 gallon tank, and if I stick to 65 mph on the cruise control, I consistently get 550 miles out of a tank of gas. That's around 14 ~ 15 mpg leaving a few drops in the tank. Two questions about this type of behavior: 1. At what fuel level on the gauge do I risk running the fuel pump unsubmerged? And 2. How bad is it, anatomically speaking, to sit behind the wheel for NINE HOURS between gas stops!!!

Typically its thought constantly running the tank below 1/4 full has the pump no longer submerged. I've almost never run my E-Series below that mark, one has 292K miles on its original fuel pump.
Anatomically I have no idea, stop whenever you need to stretch, pee or whatever. Or ask a long haul trucker how they do it day after day.
