Turbo boost ?'s

Hello all, I don't know much about turbo's cept for the exhaust spins it, in turn forces more air in for combustion. When you talk about more/less boost, lag and spooling I would like to learn about it. Also, is the only way a person can detect these through guages, or more physical "feel". I know you can learn me.Thanks

Clay thanks for responding, but the only link I get is the one to your future site. Very clever!

Just checked site. Thanks, cleared up a couple things but the "feel" vs. gauge thing. I think I need to get o-rings for the pedestal to take care of a small oil leak. While I'm there would it be wise to change the wheel even if there is nothing wrong with the stock turbo.
My truck is all stock right now. Also if colder air would be able to give me more power would mileage increase also? Just wondering because in winter it's worse.

It's worse in winter because of the winter diesel blend. As far as the wheel are you experiencing any surge?

If it would be a real surge, like feel yourself get pushed back, no.
