Duhh, I mean the waterpump-problem....

I have a 1993 e-150, wirth a strange engine inside. Strange, because i haven't found the number on a 'machined surface' and i have recieved 3 waterpumps that don't fit

I have exactly the same number on the timing chain cover !!

So my question is: Which waterpump did match your timing cover ?

Do you have a number, a supplier, a ford-code, anything that will get me started (and my engine too)

thanks a lot for any reply,

dree

thanks for your reply (not) but by now i know the problem. Someone hung an 1986 engine in a 1993 chassis ! In 1986 the rotation was normal, until 1993 arrived and they started calling the old ones reversed rotation. It means the waterpump pulley rotates in the reverse direction as the crankshaft does. The serp belt always goes with the edges over the pulley, and in a reversed rotation the WP pulley rotates in contact with te flat backside of the belt.

If the number is the same on the timing cover (RF-E3AE-6059-CA) then the '93 pump would be the correct one. In '93 it would have been a reverse rotation pump. If it was a car engine in '86 then it would have been normal rotation. If it has the later model timing cover then the later model pump should fit it. I had a '79 ltd with a ;79 351w but it was a new style pump instead of an older style.

By now i have found the right one; a 1986 normal rotation pump , as you described very accurate ! i have found also a 86-timing chain, so i'm all reset. Tryingh to change te trans-filter, but wife and kid kept 'asking' my attention. Something for later this week.
Thanks to y'all for reply's.
