Vehicle Maintenance

Some of my ideas,,, I have done all of these..........
1. Search this website... lots of good info.
2. Batteries usually die at 5 yrs... so now or soon...
3. Coolant flush and chemical cleaner is good... My radiator hoses are good even at 150k, well at least they have not failed... yet....
4. Check your passanger side, rear heater hose to metal pipe connection, these leak into the rear spark plug, just tighten the clamp.
5. Thermostats are about $10, so yes, change it... mine is on the top drivers side of the engine, at the end of the upper radiator hose.
6. Transmission filter and fill is always good, sooner than later. I think mine was about $75 fluid and filter.
7. Check your PVC valve and hose, Mine was really restricted, almost collapsed at the PVC valve, and the rear intake connection.
8. You can spray carb cleaner on the MAF sensor.
9. You can spray cleaner on the butterfly valve, clean vlave and where it touches the tube..
10. Check torque on spark plugs, 5.4L guys have problems with the spark plugs blowing out of engine.....
11. Lube all the hinges.
