I don't really know if it does or not. It will insure getting cooler air in. Probably one of those 6 of one 1/2 dozen the other things. It doesn't cost anything though.

I know guys in the x forum have done this and measured air temp before and after and have found no difference. Most just opt for the filter and a bag cover for the diesels though.

One fellow in the 6.0 forum recorded I think it was a 60* difference with and without the mod. I am running the stock intake and will continue to do so because I like my turbo.

Finally finished the 08 super duty mirror install. Man they will take some time to get used to compared to the old dog ears. (even harder to see around them) BUT I LIKE EM!

I've stripped most of the bad paint off the hood, and the upper part of the left side and back doors of my panel truck. I started out using a sanding disc, then discovered a lot of it will come off with a scraper. I haven't decided what primer and paint to use... I've got cans of hardware store rust primer, and some RM lacquer primer-surfacer that I got a long time ago. Then, what color... Blitz Black, cheap Light Blue spray paint from Canadian Tire, or some yellow/orange that matches the original factory color. I'm not looking for a great finish, just a truck that doesn't look like it belongs in a horror movie.

Other stuff: pimping an alternator. Getting the nut off to replace the fan/pulley/front bearing is hard without the T65P-10300-B tool; I took a cutoff disc to the nut. Next is smooth and paint the cases, replace the bearings, install a high-output stator and diode pack, and finally put the chrome pulley, fan and nut on.

I had that happen with my old 78 I had. Turned out to be a bad head gasket between two cylinders. Just passing back and forth between the too.

Wallz those mirrors are huge. I thought mine were big.

Only to the front side, no big deal, just different to see around the little dog ears that where previous.

I was first thinking about going to the 07 and previous tow mirrors, but when I drove a truck with them I really didn't like them at all. (they seemed small) Then I started looking at the 08 mirrors and knew that I needed those instead. Big difference when you look at them side by side. Next time you have a chance climb into a truck with them on or pull up next to one with them and you'll see what I mean. Plus the power fold, no more walking around the truck folding them each time in a parking lot, the X is big enough and it is hard enough to park into a regular (tiny) stall.
