i have a 01 ranger xlt extended cab, and i am wanting to do a v-8 swap after i get it paid off this yr. other than the motor, tranny, and computer system, what all else do i need to hook all the wiring and mounting the motor. i know they make a kit for this but dont know where to find it. and how much does it cost? and are there any alternatives to that kit?

Look for a v8 explorer or Mountaineer donor vehicle - swap it over and avoid all the what does or doesn't fit/work properly/pass inspections.

You can get the conversion kits from james duff.com. You can also get just pieces from them like the ability to run a manual tranny, headers and so on. Things you won't get from a donor vehicle
