Don't forget the wiring harness.... and fuel tank filler hose. I did my 79 long bed by myself, using 4 saw horses and a couple of long (10 or 12') 2x4's. Picked it up, blocked the 2x4's on the saw horses and drove out from under. 3 or 4 people can pick up easily - tailgate off makes it lighter. Have fun, George

 

hehe so can a 3 ton jack and engine hoist.. we lifted the entire body off a 85 surburban that way...

thanks also... and i have enjoyed the heck outta my lift, sure beats laying in the grass or on the cold conrete...i am lucky in that i was able to find one that was fairly inexpensive...... i can work under both my 79 f150 or my 01 s/c while sitting on a rolling stool....makes it nice to be indoors also...
i'll try to post some photos while we work and of course drink the beers.. if you guys ever find yourselves in the no va (manassas va) area, please stop by, always beer in the garage fridge.....

hey post some pics of that lift... i wanna see it... ive got a small paved driveway and a gravel side lot driveway.. i usually have to lay on the rocks most the time... its not too bad most the time.. less you happen to shift the rocks enough to expose the still sharp ones underneath... i need to go do to HD and pick up a few bags more of them... theres spots there where theyve been compacted down into the ground enough that the dirts showing back up and becoming mudd anytime it rains...
