97 XLT 2wd wheel fit question

Will 2002 Ford Ranger 17" wheels fit or will there be a clearance issue? The 97 has the factory 14" crappy wheels currently on it. the guy said they are 5x4.5 bolt. so just wondering about backspacing and hight clearence?

Thanks!

If you run a low profile tire you should be able to sqeeze it in, "maybe". alot of the 4x4 rangers came with a 16" wheels and there's room to go with a little bit bigger tire. I'm really not sure on this one, you may need a small lift, I'm just not sure.

I had the same question, basically. My '94 Ranger has 14 inch wheels, and I was hoping to be able to find something a bit larger so I could fit some tires with a bit more "Mud+Snow" capability than I can find in the 14 inch sizes. You might have a look here... lots of info about Ranger wheels there. Helped me out a lot.
