Hood Problem Fixed

Hey guys, I'm very proud of my latest invention. I took a piece of scrap steel sign post and cut two 1" pieces off of it. These became adjusting brackets for the rear corners of the hood on my 54. My hood has the tilt-forward aftermarket kit installed. It works great, but the rear corners of the hood stick out a little too wide and don't match up with the body. My new brackets bolt on to the existing bolt hole where the old hinges used to be. I then fabricated an adjustment rod for each side that looks very similar to the rods that run from the firewall to the corner adjusters. My new smaller versions of the adjuster rods fasten to the support in the center of the hood where the tilt mechanism is fastened. Now I can adjust the hood corners in so that they line up perfectly with the body. By putting an adjustment nut on the inside of the bracket, they could also be used if someone want to push the corner out a little. For once the plan went right without any AWS**TS. John
