electrochromatic mirror questions?

I have the electric mirror in my Expedition. In previous electric mirrors I have seen a green light on the "eye." This one doesn't glow and I don't know if it is functioning correctly.

There's nothing I've seen to indicate power or anything else. The mirror functions seamlessly and subtly with good rear vision, but no blinding lights behind.
