Question Is a 1956 coe--or is it a 1955 coe?

I am concerned that a 1956 coe I have been looking at and titled as such,is exactly that?
It appears to be a slant-cab, type and looks more like a 55. I have seen 56 coes at the Nationals and want to stipulate which this is,or is it a title mistake?
I am asking that if it looks like a slant-cab----can it be a 56?
thanks....Bill
oh---I have a diesel 56F350 that is running and will move on its own power--but am considering putting the drivetrain into this coe. But,I want a 56.

I like this one. As far as what it says on the title we have heard of many cases right here at FTE were the year on the title does not match. Check the waranty plate to find the year of the truck. Canyou post a picture? Just kidding Bill.

Merten--This is a problem...I still cannot post pics......and it is really ticking me off. I am having a neighbor help me this weekend...and so I might learn it afterall....haha

The 56coe in your pic is guaranteed a 56....as I have many, but no coe.
This coe I am interested in is a 55.....but the owner says it is a 56. I guess I will pass on it. I am sure if it looked as good as the 1 in your pic....I would be writing a check ....haha!!thanks/Bill

I have seen recently on uPaY auction site a '56 that by all accounts seemed original, but had a '54 grille on it. To be honest, I wouldn't at all be suprised if an early '56 C series truck rolled out with a slant cab, but badged as a '56. Check the vin plate.
In my quest for a '56 C truck, I've considered settling on a nice 54 local to me and grafting the cowl, windshield, and roof from a '56 donor cab I have stashed away... They ain't making any more of them coe's. I gotta carve out some time to go check on a local '56 C truck asap. Same truck as I thought was crushed this time last year. Crusher evidently knew what he had and kept it back. I'm almost scared of when I buy a truck that I'll miss the hunt. NAH... I'll just drown those feelings with late nights in the garage!

Ford used to use older parts on special order vehicles if a costomer wanted it. When I was in high school I drove a school bus and our old standby was a 48/50 F-7 but it was titled as a 53!!! I know Ford built new model AA trucks as late as 1940. Our Oklahoma highway patrol was founded in 1937 with a fleet of brand new 1935 Ford coupes. Tom

Bill..... It does make you wonder about end of year stuff/beginning of year!

Just like on OVERHAULIN..when they did John Forces stock?? 56 short school bus. When they scanned to an inside shot of the dash it was 53/55 dash not 56. But the grille was 56 and that's what they called it all through the show.

I finally caught up with the un-crushed '56. it was a tattered rusty pile. I may go back for it, if the owner will get reasonable on his price.
