I thought I did until I talked to rick miller and said his 6 disk was in the dash and mine is under the rear seats. I noticed it didn't say ford anywhere on the front of it but it looks factory. Is it or is it an aftermarket set up?

You are right JD, that is not factory. The 6 player is only a cd player.

Rick is right stock CD radios were single CD with Cassett or 6 disc.dealers did add aftermarket changers to single CD radios and those without CD capability or I guess stereo shops also added them

That is a factory radio. It may just be out of another Ford vehicle, an Explorer, F-150 or something. And whoever added the aftermarket changer (it looks aftermarket from the pic anyhow) to it.

I am pretty sure my buddy had one just like in his 02 F-150.

My current truck has an in-dash 6CD changer, but my last truck ('97 F-150) had a 6CD changer mounted externally in the back, so yours could easily be stock.

You can check with a dealership (parts or service) and find out it it's stock.

If it's Ford changer, it will have a part number on it. Our old '99 Explorer had a factory changer under the rear seat. I have no idea it was there when I bought it but found it when snooping. It had a Ford logo stamped to it and a part number next to the stamp on top of the unit. I would take it out and see.

Justin, our 01 expy had a cd player in the console like that and had ford written all over it but as in the previous post they did make some that were hidden like yours but looks to me to be a after market cd player. Yes and they are a pain in the **** to load and unload... Just my $0.02 though. The PSD has a in dash cd player and dvd in it ( thanks to the PO)
