Hi everyone ,
I painted the rear fenders last weekend and set the bed back onto the frame . Dang nasty head and chest cold sidelined me from doing much this weekend . I did attach the rear fenders with a few bolts to get them off the garage floor. There is an updated photo in the gallery . I wish I had more time to spend out there because I 'm looking forward for that first ride but there never seems to be enough time in a day . lol
Looking really nice, are you painting it yourself in the area it's sitting. I'm thinking of painting mine myself and was wondering what your setup like.
Hey guys , thanks for the comments . Yes I am doing all the work pretty much by myself . It's been a slow process starting with a frame off and working my way up and out from there . All the work has been done in my two car garage with just a 7.5 hp air compressor ,a good 220 mig welder and the tools that I bought over the years that I worked in the autobody repair business . As for the paint it's not all finished yet but whenever I get a few hours too spare that's where I am ,out in the garage fixing old cars and trucks that most people around here don't want to get involved with . As a matter of fact I just called on a pickup cab that I saw sitting less than a mile from my house.Come to find out it's a 1932 ford pickup that my neighbor bought about 20yrs ago he was going to make a hotrod out of it but he hasn't gotten around to it yet . He says it's not for sale but I've known the guy for years so I will keep in touch evey once in awhile just to see if he changes his mind . I missed a complete 1931 ford cabriolet by not keeping in touch with the owner as often as I should have but I don't feel too bad about it as it is being totally restored at the moment . I will keep updating things on the 55 as I get them done .
