99 2V Dyno'd

Dyno'd the 99 today, auto, 194k miles F350 ,4x4 , 285 tires...
First graph shows stock vs an 87 tune. More power and better torque lockup strategies.

Second graph shows how a stock tune does not use power enrichment during WOT.

We will have some intakes and Y pipe dyno runs next now that we have established a base line with stock pcm. The truck is 100% stock from front to back... with 3.73 gears. Sorry for the bad scans... have to get a new scanner.

I cannot wait for the Y pipe dyno runs. Are you going to do any with a CAI?
I just purchased a Volant which maybe a waste of money but the price was great.
Thank you for sharing your results as I have the same year truck and can build from your runs. Your tuner has suprising results!

Hi saggys
For sure we will be dyno'ing some cai along with filters and such. That stock run was the best out of 5 runs. Other stock runs varied 162-166 HP... it was not consistant at all. Did 2 runs with the 87 tunes and they were .6 hp of each other...

What exacly are you changing with this tuner? Is this a programer you plug in? Does it work on E350's like my 02 Van?

Nice! 17hp with some minor tweaking. Sounds like there's more lurking in that ole 99. Look forward to the Y-pipe run.

Rep to ya! This kind of data (proof) is SO needed!

Hi stumpalump
Stategies related to fueling ,timing and many tans related functions.
This is SCT X3 programmer that plugs into OBDII port and reflashes PCM.
It will work just fine on your E350 Van...

I know the truck has 194K+ miles but I wasn't expecting such a large difference in RWHP and the 275 advertised. I figured a 20% loss for driveline friction. Think the engine may have lost compression over the miles?

Most of the drive train loss is normal , between the auto trans, transfer case, axle and larger tires. It takes hp to turn those. Also, a dyno jet will read higher as well (they engineer a plus factor in when manufactured). We try focus on controlled conditions with before and after gains. The truck drives and runs well for 194k miles. I am not sure about the compression. Did a plug change last week and all plugs are burning clean. But on the street you can tell the stock programming is lacking compaired to a tune with hp/torque gains and better shift and torque strategies.

That is the programmer I would like to buy. Nice to see that there is actually an improvement. Now I have to buy one. Intresting to see what the exhaust and cai dyno run will be. I have almost the same truck just c/cab w/35in tires.

Any plans for a PI swap? It would be interesting to see that difference.
