i like the Rancho stuff myself..

Procomp is also a good company to choose...

when it comes to steering stabilziers any of the aftermarket suspension company offerigs will be a huge upgrade over the OEM stock unit...

On my 01 Ex I added the Fab-Tec dual kit. When I ordered the kit I wanted the old school look of one top and one on the bottom not side by side. Well when it came in it was set up as front and back, a little disappointed but installed it any way. The Fab-Tec stabilziers were about the same dia. as stock. A year later I bought a set of Pro Comp shocks and it came with a free stabilzer, I ended up buying another set of shocks for my S/D to get the free stabilzier. See I told my wife that the S/D needed shocks too! The dia. from Pro Comp was the same size as the shocks and felt a lot better than the ones from Fab-Tec. I am glad I made the switch.

These took all the shake/pull out when I put the 325/70/17s on. Skyjacker specs. them for lifted trucks only but, well, they fit perfectly. I've used Skyjacker before on my other trucks and see no reason to go with the smaller, more expensive companies. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with them but they're much more expensive usually.

I didn't lose any ground clearance either.

Later...

I did a Rancho to replace the OEM. It took all of 20 minutes to make the swap and immediately the difference was obvious.

Keep in mind that the kit for your 01 will not look like the ones that the 05-09 guys are posting pics of and talking about.

The Skyjacker kit for the 99-04 hangs below the tie rod.

I had the rough country set up on my truck... wasn't before long I blew one of the stabilizers... didn't like the fact that they hung so low... not to mention the fact I wasn't able to make lock-to-lock turns anymore because I would top out either of the stabilizers... didn't notice this until I had a friend turn the wheel for me steering wheel while looked at the suspension... and yup, the stabilizers would bottom out before my knuckle would hit the steering stop...

reason why I got these in the first place? to get rid of the "death wobble" I had on my truck... replaced all my steering components (tie-rods, drag link, etc) and my death wobble was 95% gone... no need for my dual steering stabilizer anymore, lol... thats my experience with the Rough Country setup...

I just ordered the rough country dual set, can you tell me what it bolts too? I'm hopeing not the u bolts, as I want to add another lift block that will not leave any threads to spare.

Yes it bolts into place using the u bolts. You do not unbolt the springs. You simply place the bracket over the original u bolt nuts and they give more nuts to put on to hold the bracket. But if you are adding a leaf you will need new u bolts anyway. Just have some made an inch longer then.

Why would you want them? One should be enough, do you have a steering problem? You probably will with those, namely; harder to steer.

I am assuming more stabilizer = more dampening but why would you need it?
