Tekonsha P3 controller is what I use.
And Jim's info is the best way to go. These should all be plug and play for brake controllers and trailer plugs unless some nit wit cut the plugs off.

Here is what my truck has on the back (Class V hitch)
and this is what we went to look at today (might buy)
Now, am i just going to need to buy a brake controller and harness for it to plug into the dash, or am i going to need more?

Controller and harness, make sure the trailer relays in the power distribution center under the hood are still there, and there should be a constant hot wire in the bumper connector to charge a trailer battery or provide power for lights in trailer.

Where would this power distribution center be? And how can i tell the relays are all there

Above the drivers side inner fender. I don't remember which relays do what, I think there's a diagram in your truck manual. If you don't have your manual I'll post the page you need. By the way that looks like a nice trailer.

yes the trailer is a little longer than i need, its a 28 footer... but it will allow me to take an ATV, all my tools and boxes and spare parts to the track.
Would you mind posting the link to the page i need? I did not get a manual for my truck(traded my old OBS 460 F250 for it, and neither had manuals)
