Major surgery F250

I've got an 82' F150 that I stuffed a big bad 76' 460 in last year. The truck just isn't heavy enough. I'm gonna buy a 76 77ish extended cab F250 to put my motor in. I need a 4x4 but all of the really clean trucks are two wheel drive. How hard would it be to put a four wheel drive front end under an old two wheeler. I am a professional mechanic but this is out of my area of expertise(Diesel mechanic). Anyone done this?

Its a terrible swap if you want to use factory parts.

If you want to build your own custom link suspension, or even some lifted leaf springs its not bad if you can fabricate mounts

the frames are very different and stock parts don't bolt up. The steering boxes are different and in the wrong places, and the 2wd crossmember will often hit the differential housing so it might need to be reworked as well.

Your best bet is to buy a 4wd with a beat up body and a 2wd for the body.

Thats what I've done. Twice.
