electrical question

for those of you that have a voltgauge in your trucks (i installed an aftermarket one since i have the auto tranny), of course i know the GP's run for about 2 minutes or so after the truck has started, and after they are done my volt gauge jumps up to normal where is should be. But, sometimes i notice that when the high idle kicks in after the GP's do thier cycle and voltgauge jump up, that the gauge will go back down when in high idle kicks inand read around 13v or so. have any of you noticed this and is it normal?? and of course when i step on the brake to shut high idle off the gauge jumps back to 14.4v.

Next time I drive the truck, I will look closer at my voltmeter (aftermarket of course). I don't believe that my volts go down after my GPR kicks off or high idle like you describe. IIRC, I start cold truck with GPR is on - volts read around 12ish volts, I put my truck in high idle on my DP Tuner - volts still read around 12ish volts until GPR turns off. After that, volts at 14+. Even if the tuner and/or EBPV is still at high idle, volts don't go down after GPR is off. How old is your alternator and are your battery connections squeaky clean?

i was thinking it was the AIH that might be doing it, alt seems good and ust put new batts in yesterday
