If I were adding subs, I wouldn't consider anything else.
+1 Berry.

I had it flsuh mounted in a custom enclosure I build into the jumpseat area of my 99 Ranger xtracab quite a while back. It's mounted in the enclosure I built for the 150 so I can't get at the model number, but it's the 4 ohm version. In that small of an area, that ED sounded simply fantastic. I can highly reccomend those subs to anyone. The nice thing to is... they are not all that expensive when you look at the competition.

My friend is installing a system in my 07 expedition. 2 jl hd amps mounted to floor under center counsole (some cutting required) focal kr2's in the doors and a custom sub enclosure with a 12' fi q sub where factory sub was.

Drew, pictures would be awesome. I like this idea and would heavily consider doing something very similar.

Let me see what I can do for you. Your not going to see much only because the amp is behind the panel. But I'm happy to share what I came up with.

I guess it depends what you are looking for, but when I was upgrading, I wanted to use no normally useable space, did not want to **** off the neighbors and wanted it to sound decent. I ended up going with Aura pro series bass shakers. I mounted them inside the front seats, the small 50x2 amp is under the second row, and it still allows full function of seat fold ups. I used an epicenter rheostat to control the intensity of the bass. This way it sounds and feels like two 12"s are in the back, but no outside rattle, no space wasted, cost less than 200 bucks out the door.
It is just an option. Before this, I used a Kicker waterproof wakeboard boat box. It fit perfect in the rear side window. No useable space lost, nice sounding sub, waterproof, easily removed when the 3rd row needs to be used. That box has now migrated to the Isuzu in the spare tire area. Got it for 50 bucks at Circuit City before they went away.

Great idea's and suggestions guys.I had all the same criteria for my AV guy, clean install,no lost space, clean and clear sound at all speeds and music type.

I went with a Pioneer AVIC Z2,Alpine amps(in center console with a computer fan)JL Audio Stealth box and JL audio Tweets and Mids.I put a Kenwood overhead 11.5" DVD monitor with IR headphones and tied it into my head unit.Sound is phenominal for both music and movies, bass is deep but not over powering.System is 2 years old and flawless.

Extra's are Bluetooth,Rear camera,XM radio with Nav traffi(love this)DVD changer in center console and zero loss of useable space!

nfntruth-how did you mount these under the seats (to the seat or floorboard) and did you leave the factory sub hooked up. I did the apline version shakers many years ago combined with a 6" bazooka tube in a ranger and was amazed. I am looking for a little more out of the expy but will not sacrafice any space. I replaced the head unit just to get video and ipod controls and have amps and 10" subs all over the garage (from a previous life) but would be intersted in trying these as lifestyle has changed but still like to feel my music a little more than what the stock system offers. Thanks, Mike.
