Nothing new, except I'm losing interest in the ole '55 project.
I do get a hankering every now and then to get out the Sawzall (actually it's a old Bosch Panther) and cut the cab into little
tiny bite size pieces and scrap it...............but I won't.
Don`t know if I`ll have it all done by then or not. At the rate I`m getting things done
I would doubt it. I may not be very fast but I sure am slow. I just bought an AOD out of a 1991 Lincoln, and it`s in a xmission shop right now being gone thru. Have it in a couple days. If my meager budget holds out I may have it done in time.
Hope all is well with you.
I'm a track coach at a local HS here in San Mateo and every track season things get hectic. Plus, it's tax season, bunch of family b-days, etc. Lucky if I get in here once a month or work on my truck for that matter.
Keep at it Gary, the weather's warming up and the show will give you a goal. Karl, I have not heard anything yet about the Micke Grove Show. I know that it is put on by the Delta Elites Club each year with help from the brotherin, the Bay area Elites. ? I'll start looking through my phone book and see if I can find my old contacts. When I know for sure, I will post a seperate announcement of when and where. John
I've been having major internet connection problems all week and getting online has been very spotty...and when I do get on, it's extremely slow. This morning it's working at about dialup speed, which is the fastest it's been in days. We've called Mediacom (our ISP) and been told that the problem is on our end and we can try to fix it ourselves or wait for a week or so for a tech to get out here and check it. I've done everything I can to check it from my end and found nothing wrong and determined it's definitely on their end.
Yesterday in yet another attempt to get them out here to fix it they finally admitted that it is indeed on their end and it's affecting service around the entire lake, they have a specialist coming up from The City (or somewhere) to work on it in the next day or so, and they plan to credit our account (and presumably everyone else's) 25 bucks for this month. Great...wish they'd have owned up to in the first place and saved me all the time I spent out in the rain checking our wiring. Ought to bill them for that...

In this economy, you would think that serving what few paying customers that are out there would be their top priority. Are they the only ISP in the area? I guess if they are, then they don't have to rush.
I'm still lurking here. I haven't done anything to my truck in a few months, for various reasons. Primarily because I may soon be able to buy a house for the first time in my 50 years of life, thanks to the decline in the real estate market. So, I have been trying to save money rather than spend it. Also, the more I work on the truck the more I get attached to it, and I'm considering (selling) it to boost our down payment. So I move it around a couple of times a week, but try to think of it as an asset rather than a project.
Good deal Barrie. Where are you looking to buy? I am seeing prices fall as well. I saw a nice upscale house on the border of roseville and citrus heights for 335K this week. 2 years ago it would have been selling for 500K+. Good luck, Jag
Jag, I think I saw the same house you did. The house straddles the county line. The front yard is in CH and the house and back yard are in Roseville. Stopped at the open house on the weekend. Nice place, but more than we want to spend. We're using two incomes to qualify, but I want to be able to keep up the payments if we lose one of our incomes unexpectedly. So we'll likely stay below $250K. Even at that level there are some decent homes available. Our youngest will join his sister in high school next year and we want to stay within the school's territory boundaries in southeast Roseville.
hey guys, still here just cant really do much work on the truck when its burried under a couple feet of snow, plus its spring sports season. hope everyone is doing good ill try to check in more often.
