OASIS Rpt?
It states I have 3.73 ratio under axle ratio. Are those the tallest gears for a F-350 4x4 ZF-6 spd? That gearing should yield the best fuel milage ...right?
Plus with the 6 spd. they should be fine for hauling a 8ft. S&S self contained slide in camper and pulling a two horse slant?
The axle type is listed as EGJAB-non-limited slip rear axle? Is this the same as what we used to call posi-trac? Can someone explain what it means exactly. And it's a good thing to have....right?
And lastly....under installed options it states Mirror Driver side..Electrchrmc power heat mirror? I'm guessing my drivers side mirror has a defroster? But where do you turn it on? Is it something that's automatic by a temp sensor? Whats electrchrm ...whats that mean?
I bought the truck 1/30/09 and just discovered these items. The dealer didn't even know it had the six speed. It's listed in the window equipment list as a five speed. I just learned I have thse other things a minute ago.
The non-limited slip is an open differential. No limited slip or posi-trac type action at all.
Don't know about the mirror, but the dealer is an idiot. The only manual they put behind the 7.3 in the 99-03 trucks was the ZF-6. Of course it really is more like a 5 speed with a granny gear, or at least that's how I look at it. You can barely move forward in granny gear, but you can pull 2 houses off their foundation without slipping the clutch with it.
