throttle pedal response is weak, constantly shifting..

my truck is not responding to the go pedal very good anymore and i was wondering where a guy should investigate first... possible sticky/weak IPR or throttle pedal assembly bad?

My trans was rebuilt by a ratty shop... and i wonder if they didnt just reuse my T Converter as it is weak or so it seems and shutters bad. shifts alot because of this problem

The truck just doesnt seem to have any get up and go unless the pedal is on the floor! when pulling my 24ftr its just a dog if im not completly on it.. the pedal when its from a stop is much better but once i drive it seems to get worse then does taper off. hopefully some one has a similar story with a happy ending.

boots/ up pipes are O.K.
building plenty boost when its floored (22 psi with out chip)
maybe bad voltage to the T C?
i would immagine IPR needs replacing judging by how it starts...
anyone have any ideas?? Thanks

yeah i took it off and put some wd-40 the best i could in the TPS itself a while ago.. so more of a TPS issue? not a TC issue?

That's what I'm thinking. Have you tried some electical contact cleaner on the TPS?
If the TC was messing up I think that it would slip. I'm sure that others will chime in.

I tried the contact cleaner but i did not split the TPS itself. with the DP tunes i used the aggressive throttle response alot and wonder if that has somthing to do with it? would the lack of throttle response possibly be an IPR if not the TPS? i just bought an IPR and will try that soon but it has gotten pretty bad over the last 3 months.. i cant get over 65 with my trailer but just as soon as it shifts, it pulls very hard with just stock tunes. what i would expect to be about average.
can i split the TPS open to clean the terminals? it looked like a non splitable type of sensor when i looked a while ago.. if not im just going to buy another

I don't think that you can open them up. you may be able to get some of the cleaner trough the case though.

Napa has them for $109 NAPAONLINE®

But I have found them cheaper than that. I can't find the link though.

Edit: I found it

sounds to me like the MAP sensor,

if it doesnt work, the truck has little top end power, like you describe.

I cant see how the turbo would make 20psi of boost without the engine working hard though...

the engine is working hard when i mash the pedal, just doesnt seem to register till its within the shifting range (the hard part of pedal.) when its cold there is little to no response for just a minuite then it gets better and is OK for a while till the truck warms up, then its like it slowly backs off values the pedal is sending.

It had 260k. i will look at the map sensor.. i have a rough custom air intake directly off of the turbo while my tubonetics is being rebuilt (last minuite type of job in a hurry)
its filtering air fine, but is just a filter clamped on to the stock tubo.. i can now see how a map sensor may be the case with that.. i just have the green tube going into the filters rubber part. i will look at that region see what i find, im learning! be nice to see exaclty what tunes/controles the truck in what fasion, one can assume its map rpm and other sensors but knowing exactly thier role in the tuning or de-tuning would be nice.
