I have the Jotto Desk because I got it off CL for $125, and it was practically brand new when I got it. It's been OK. If I were starting from scratch, I would go with the RAM mount system because it seems to have a better laptop platform and better adjustability. Both Jotto and RAM are effective, though.

So, this is getting resurrected again. I just got a new 13" MacBook Pro for graduation. From what I can tell, the general consensus is for a Ram Mount. $300 though I have a leather bench seat with the fold down center counsel. Does anyone know of any other products that utilize the counsel or has anyone made their own? I want it so I can run AE while I'm cruising around, to control my music and maybe for movies for peeps in the back.
Pics would be great!!!!
Thanks

it's hard to find a laptop that is nice and inexpensive.

I kept an eye on eBay and eventually found a RAM mount for under $100....but it took a pretty long time to find one that cheap.

CL and eBay are going to be your best bets if you want to avoid the high list prices of the high quality RAM and Jotto units. I do not believe you'll regret the RAM system, even if you have to spill out some extra beans to get it because you don't want (or need) to wait for the ultimate "must sell" opportunity.

I got your PM but we can't attach pics to PMs.
Here are those pics.

It has 21-28in of up/down movement. From the top of the main pole to the mount you have 14inches of mvt divided by two "arms". the bottom mounting area is flat square

Okay, so is that unit like a universal design? or is it designed for the superduty that I have?

Not as attachments, but you can send pics via PM using image tags just like you did in this post. You can even do it when repping someone.
