04 FX4 Confusing Starting Problem This Morning! Help!
#16
Ford2go, good information. Reading voltage while under a heavy load is essentially what the battery testers do. Just isn't as precise that way, especially when it can be tested for free at many locations. That's why I was pushing that way
I have had batteries tested at Walmart before, with good luck. One time I was there with my 17 year old brother, after I suggested his battery was starting to go. I watched as they connected the tester, punched in how many amps the battery was supposed to have, pressed the test button, and saw the readout myself. Now, this was in Reynoldsburg, OH...and obviously is NOT necessarily how your walmart may treat you....
btacarlton, if it's been fine for awhile now, it's likely something other than the battery. I'd get it checked just to rule it out, but I've never seen a bad battery start working well on it's own.....
