Switching from dino to syn?

Alright i did the switch a while ago and loved it. The only thing is i didn't drain the HPOP of the old dino. I just did a regular old routine oil change and filled it back up with Syn. Haven't had any problems at all and i loved the difference. I have read on here that you are supposed to drain the pump and i told my buddy that and now he wants to switch but he won't do it without draining the HPOP. Can anyone give me instructions on draining the pump? And i guess it fills itself back up or do you have to fill it?

it wont hurt a thing to switch without draining the reservoir. it has been done many many times, i wouldnt worry about it. i switched from dino to syn and never drained the reservoir. everything is fine

I agree with Ken above, tell your buddy to go ahead and do the synthetic switch over and enjoy his quieter truck, he can do it but it seems overkill to me. Its only less than a quart in there anyways.

Yea Matt, there,s a tork or star screw on the top(w-o-ring) of the HPOP, guys unscrew that and suck out the old oil but he'll be alright. Just letting you know where it is.
