i just bought a 97 F250 HD with 7.3L. the blinkers work normal without the parking or headlights turned on. when i turn either the parking or headlights on the blinkers bog waaay down they barley flash and when i got out and looked both tail lights and the license plate lights were all flashing. also my tail light running lights do not come on at all and my brake lights are very dim. i am at a loss!! please help any suggestions on where to start are appreciated! also i checked all fuses and they were fine. i found one 30amp maxi under the hood out, the book said it was for "trailer battery charge" or something like that, i replaced it and no change. the truck was recently rearended and the tow package and bumper were replaced could any of this cause that my problem? thanks!
Anything goes when a body shop repairs wire harnesses. Try un-hooking the tow harness.
There should be a connector for the tow harness under the truck on the driver side frame rail near the rear bumper.
If it's been spliced together then it probably wired wrong.
If the damage was bad enough the tail light harness may have been damaged and "fixed" by the body shop too.
Pull the tail lights and look for wire repairs.
