All the exhaust ports should be the same temp there should not be any one hole that is hotter or cooler than the others at least not by much. In my experince a bad injector will make that cylinder hotter by hundreds of degrees.
before the turbo has a quicker reading. they're is a nice flat spot on the drivers manifold next to the oil filter with pleanty of room to drill and tap the manifold . use grease on the drill and tap to catch the metal shavings. i just put one in last week and from the advise i researched here the installation went smoothly.
