Durability of chromed headers

I'm trying to decide whether to send a set of Doug Thorley headers sent out for an aluminum ceramic coating so they last longer. They're finished in standard nickel chrome right now, my main concern is them rusting out after a few years. Anyone have comments on the lifespan of a good set of headers, or is the $200 and shipping both ways for the ceramic worth it?

TIA

They will last longer with the coating than without. They typicaly coat the inside as well as the ouside of the headers.
Now depending on what elements they are exposed to, is a different story. I had a set of not coated headers rust out in one winter due to the road salt that NY uses.

The chrome discolor's as soon as you start it.The headers I have are about 6 yrs old and pretty rusty.I would go with ceramic coating.

As rdl1320 said, they will discolor. The get that puple, blue,
blackish look to them. Mostly on the top tubes, where they bolt to the head.
