How can I find out what gear I have in my front axel. 83 F350 6.9. Also I am not sure If it is a 50 or a 60. I think axel code on door says 33. But I well check when I get home from work.

33 = Rear Axle Code: Dana 60 or Dana 61-1 (depends on the weight capacity of the axle) / 3.54-1 / non Limited Slip.
F350 4WD: The front axle ratio will most likely be the same as the rear, because only two ratios were offered: 3.54-1 or 4.10-1.
The parts catalog lists two possible front axles: Dana 50 or 60. To determine what you have, the front axle ID tag code must be known.
There were two ID tags. The Ford ID tag was under one of the bolts that holds the inspection cover on. This tag may be missing by now.
Bolted to the housing to the right of the inspection cover is the Dana ID tag.
The tag is 2" x 1/2" two bolts were used to retain it, the code is all numbers, either 7 or 8, like these two examples: 603010-1 or 603010-11.
Rear axle ID tag code...the same two locations as the front, except the bolted on tag was to the left of the inspection cover.
