Transmission Pulse
Hi there,
I've got a 1989 F-Superduty with a 7.3 diesel. I've got about 175,000 kms on the transmission and lately it's started to make a fairly loud pulsating noise when it's under load. When I let off the accelerator the noise goes away completely. I'm thinking possibly the throw-out bearing might be going, as it can be stiff on some shifts, but not all.
If you need any more details, I'll try and narrow it down for you. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I get the feeling that I'm going to have to rebuild it, whatever the case.

I doubt it`s the throwout bearing. You would notice it most with the clutch pedal depressed. Have you checked the drive shaft universal joints for wear? Have you checked the fluid level in the transmission?Or tried changing the fluid?
