I just noticed this past week that my drivers side headlight is getting dimmer. I even think that the parking light and turn signal light are as well. I have to verify that tonight when it is dark. What would cause all 3 lights to become dimmer than normal?
Also, anyone have a solution to get the discolored lenses back to original? I heard of 800 sandpaper and a buffer to get the yellowness out?
you can use wd-40 wipe it on or any type of oil product but its a temp fix cause after a week you ll have to wipe some more on it works great on strobebar lenses
as for the lights dimming i d check the ground for the lights if all three are dimming i believe it the grounding bolt infront of the driverside battery but im not 100% on the actual location
Fordman. I notice you have a CURTIS on your truck. I do myself as well. Do you have any issues with the plug losing good contact so the plow will not work? I have the SnowPro 3000 with a single plug. Seems snow melts and gets into the plug while in use. I have been using the crap out of electical grease.
ya i do have the same problem glad i m not the the only one with that problem i do have a solution to that problem take a small screwdriver on the plow side stick it in the the center on all the terminals and carefully i do mean carefully spread the prongs a smidgin use some brake clean on them now as for the truck side i dont know if you own a gun like i do if not go get a cleaning kit for one you can just go buy the wire brush for a 22 or a 38 and stick it in each and every hole twist it good while spraying a lil brake clean after your done let the brake clean dry the dielectric grease everything again i also have a small bungee cord i wrap around the connecter once pluged in around both the truck side and the plow side it helps a bit where do yu live? i just broke my plows markers the whole plow tripped with so much force the markers hit the ground. them things are exepensive $35 for two plastic markers at napa
I am in the heart of Iowa (Des Moines). I have been plowing like crazy this year. So I have been getting in and out of the truck alot on this issue. I love the plow but hate the way it plugs in. I might modify it next year to have the plug come out my grill so it gets it away from the ground (snow & ice). It seems like we had so much snow I have been pushing 6ft piles/drifts around that are pretty frozen. Sometimes the pile wins and I get thrown into the steering wheel. Good thing I do NOT have airbags because I would have gone through alot by now
same here i love the plow hate hate hate the plug!!! my plow is old loose every thing is worn exept for the new plow lights and trips springs on it i love the jack leg don t you?
x2 on the steering wheel getting yanked out of your hand i ll write back later my daughter just banged her head on the coffee table and is bleeding pretty good im going to run to the ER with my wife TTYL kris
There is a kit for refinishing the headlight lenses don't remember who makes it or price but you start wet sanding with 1000 grit then 2000 then finish with 3000 and then buff the lens with polish and a power buffer just don't get carried away with the buffer. Then a good coat of wax. Hope this helps.
Hey Fordman, Hope your daughter is okay. I agree with the jack stand. You can not get more convenient than that. It is a breeze to hook up and remove. I may look into a Curis V though. I have a 1/2 mile lane and the 4ft drifts are a challenge to get through with a straight blade. I used to have a boss V that I miss.
never tried the boss plow was thinking on a fisher next year but then again the curtis is still making me money lol. ya my daughter is fine nice deep scratch on her forehead it was my wife that i was worried about she nearly passed out seeing all the blood. the lil one is a trooper. i swear she did it for a trip in dads truck.
