Does your lifted truck haul a cabover camper?

I just love the looks of a 6" lift, but just have reservations because of my camper. I haul a 9.5' cabover camper & just curious as to how a 6" will affect the stability and loading.

Anyone? Problems with it? Works just fine? Should I hold to a 4"?

Thanks,

Scott

First of all, will the camper jack up high enough to load it on a lifted truck?
If so,I would be real concerned about the overall height of the truck/camper combo. The stability will suffer greatly, especially in high winds and curvy mountain roads. That could be a real white knuckler. Also with regard to the height, take into consideration low hanging obstacles such as trees ,gas station canopies, some over passes, tunnels, you get the idea.Anyway those are just my thoughts on it.

I have an '08 450 and I haul an 11.5' truck camper. The camper weighs around 5,000 pounds wet. There is no way that I would want the tuck raised even 1 inch. Four or 6"s would raise your center of gravity and I believe it would become unstable. Yes, you probably could get away with it for years, that is until you need to make an emergency maneuver like swerving to avoid someone. I am retired law enforcement and I have seen too many raised trucks that rolled when they were empty.

With just a leveling kit and 295's my jacks only have about two inches left when loading and the camper is very unstable at that height. That is why I always set the camper jacks on wood blocks when unloading. As long as I have a camper I will not put a lift on my truck. Just don't feel comfortable.

my 05 is stock and the camper is way off the ground to load it. scares the poo out of me every time, but once its loaded i don't even know its there. I refused to even look at any truck that did not have the camper pkg.

Do you have 2 slide outs on that camper of yours?
