Worn out Stock Rims

Hey guys.. Here are a couple pictures that I took of my stock rims that I run in the winter time ! The whole inside lip is worn off... It may be from running the bigger tires on a narrow 7.5" rim.. not sure.. I've never seen it before !!

Hope that worked !!

Look on the back side of the rims !!! You can tell if you have the problem without taking the tire off.. you'll see a thin lip of aluminum starting to peal off... The only reason I noticed is I went to rotate the tires and pieces of alumi was sticking out !!

Its a good thing to take a look at for everyone that is running stock rims with 285's or bigger !! Might leave ya stranded with more than one flat all at once !! The chances are slim.... but !!! I'd look ! I've never scene a rim to this in my time !!!!

Reps to you for pointing this out. My wife's truck has 285's. I need to check this tonight.

I wonder why the tire change place never noticed a problem when you got new tires?

Its my friends shop... I was there when we put the 315's on in November.... We didn't notice any sign of this problem ! Put about 8000 kms on the 315's went to rotate and there it was... big..... bold... and staring you in the face !!!
