new member first of many q's

ok so my truck is a 87 F150 4x4 has a 5.8L in it. the origianl owner removed the EFI for a carb. well my question is how hard will it be to make it EFI agian. would the upper and loer intake from a 302 mustang fit? i don't think it has the wiring still.

also q #2 can you put a 92-96 front on a 87-91? i think this is a repost question but my searching skills must not be good enuff

i believe the 1987 351 came from the factory with the carb. according to wikipedia EFI didnt start on the 351 until the 88 model year.

and yes, the 92-96 front clip bolts right on to the 87-91. the only part you might have some difficulty with is the valance under the wipers. might have a tack weld in there?-

I dont know much about your first question but I do know a little about the second. The simple answer is yes... you can update your front clip ( I think thats what you mean) to the 92-96... I just did it on my truck and it wasn't too hard. The long answer is you'll need: Everything! off of the newer clip... hood, hood hinges, front cowl, fenders, rad support, header assay, lights and grill, and bumper. Some people say that you'll need the under hood wiring harness But I think it's easier to wire in the two extra marker lights that come with the new clip. And pay attention to the h/lights as the new clip may use different bulbs and you lights may not work properly, might need to reverse the high and low beam circuit. And you'll need a bumper bracket off of a truck with the same body style, or make your own as there really simple... here's a pict of mine. Hope that helps...

This is correct.

would the upper and loer intake from a 302 mustang fit?
The 351 is wider than the 302, so the intake manifolds will not interchange.

what do you have done to your pontiac i'm a drag racer too i've got a 66 t-bird with a 390 that i built making around 600 horsepower on nitrous (i could bump it up to 700hp i'm sure the motor would handle it but i doubt the trans would) with a 2800 stall and spool and slicks not sure what it runs because i havn't had it to the "drag strip" yet but it will pull the front left wheel launching hard on the street and it's quicker than the vast majority of hondas and other ricers out there

and i would stick with the carb for your truck i swapped mine to a carb from fuel injection the carbs are more user friendly than the damn fuel injection, it is speed density which sucks anyway you can't put a cam big enough to make any power without modifying the **** out of your computer and there are so many sensors and **** it's just not worth it it made me feel really good to see a pile of wires in the trash can that i cut out of my truck, i kinda want to go to autozone and let them tell me what my computer is saying is wrong

another question before i forget. the owner sais the ignition switch will not turn over the engine and to do so you have to have this jusmper wire going from some where (no idea waht it's to need to investigate further) to start it. runs good other then that. also the ignition switch will not power the ignition coil.

when i looked up the wire diagram for this it gave me two types of ingnition systems. one was dura spark the other was thermo thick wire ignition. any idea how i can figure out witch one i have?

dont know too much about your questions other than the ignition switch....there is a acuator rod in the steering collom that may be broken mine was on the 89 it is a paint in the *** to change the part is only about 20 bucks but it sucks to do
id just use the jumper wires and make a push button start...
it would be the easiest way to go around that if your not worried about theft in your area

how do a i check if both tanks are good? just put some gas in both and see if it stays running when you switch it over?

also how hard is it to switch out brake lines on these?
