Troubled Holley
Ok ive been posting about the continuing issues with my Holley 4160 4bbl. I had it rebuilt about five months ago. Once I put it on it fired right up, then it sat for a couple months and nothing. I pulled the gas line into the carb and turned the engine and gas spurted out, so the pump is working. But I had a friend of mine who is a mechanic look at it and said that gas was not filling the bowls. Not really sure what is going on?

Remove the slight plugs and look at the fuel level; if I remember correctly, the level should be just below the plug. After you check that out we should look at some electrical stuff. Have you checked for spark?

Try tapping on the bowl around the needle and seat to see if the float is stuck closed.
Thereis also a screen type filter in the inlet behind the fitting on the bowl and may be clogged with varnished up bad gas.
