Need 74 carb vacuum line pic

Ok on my 74 highboy 360fe there is no vacuum lines hooked up and i dont know where they go. It has the stock carb and intake on it. So if anyone could post a pic it would help a ton. Thanks

A '74 won't have all of the stuff shown below, so plug off any leftover vacuum ports.

Anyway, see how that vacuum line goes from the "passenger" side of the
carburetor to the distributor's vacuum-advance unit?

My '75 Ford Shop Engine Manual shows the same as your diagram.

But some 2100's are internally plumbed to do that and some aren't.
My particular '75 360FE F150's 2100 ain't.

My 2100's passenger side port was opposite of that, its vacuum dropped
off as the throttle was opened and was highest when the throttle was
closed. You can see the port and its positon inside and see how it'd act,
(besides double checking it with a vacuum gauge). For a few years I had
it hooked up according to the dangged book and it was messed up.

My ported vacuum fitting/port is on the driver's side next the driver's side
idle mixture screw. I have/had a dozen or so 2100s and some are like mine
and most are like your diagram.

Ford huh? ;)

I wonder if that isn't where the idea that many vacuum advance units were
hooked "directly to engine vacuum by Ford" theory/myth/problem came
from?

From not looking inside the carburetor and so not knowing things have been
changed inside?

Thanks for that addition Alvin - there were definitely some peculiarities through the years. I have seen motors from time to time that have the vacuum advance sourced from direct manifold vacuum as opposed to ported vacuum. Typically the base timing specification for these black sheep is lowered, to compensate for the fact that on these setups, the vacuum advance is operating even at idle.
