Brake Lights staying on

Over the weekend I went to start my truck and it cranked real slow, and would not start ,So I hook up the batt. charger go back in the house for a little while when I came back out the brake lights were on.

Has anybody had this happen? I am sure its the brake light switch going bad,but never had them come on by thereself. So I sure this is the reason for the dead batts.

Should I get one from Ford or a parts store somewere?

im sure thats when it went bad , you got home, and since you have auto you had to hit the brake. and thats it. get the price from the FTE parts guy
cause dont know if you can just get any switch there....
did you chack if you can pop it out , maybe just some dirt in it caused it to stick....

Look at the switch on the brake pedal Brad. disconnect one of the wires and see if it goes off. IIRC there is some adjustment to them.

Dude this happened to me twice. Turned out to be my trailer tow controller's manual brake switch was sticking. But then I think this is only possible while the trailer is attached.

More than likely it is the brake controller. I'd start with making sure the manual lever is actually off. It will activate the brake lights with a trailer hooded up or not.

I have a brake controler and I will check it out also.
